Privacy & data at ShuttleBeam
We never track riders' location. Not in the background, not in the foreground — the product doesn't have the capability.
What riders share
- Nothing, by default. Watching the live map and ETAs sends us nothing about you.
- One tap, one event. Tapping “I'm here” records only the stop you chose and the time — no GPS, no device identifier. A random token on your own device prevents double-counting; it is never linked to your identity.
- Alerts stay on your phone. “Notify me” uses your browser's own notification — we don't collect your contact info.
What drivers share
Drivers explicitly start a shift, and only then does their device broadcast the vehicle's position — authenticated per vehicle, ending the moment the shift ends. This is workplace fleet telemetry with the driver in control of the switch.
What operators see
Vehicle positions, anonymous waiting counts per stop, and service metrics (wait times, trip counts). Operators never see individual riders.
Our rule
Every stored event carries its consent scope. Service data is used to run and improve the shuttle service it came from. We do not sell individual location or movement data — in any form, to anyone.
